At the Very End of the Diamond Sutra

Slicing through all the rest, at the very end of the Diamond Sutra, in the 30-some odd chapter, after teaching about many subtle and challenging ideas,

The Tathagata suggests that - relative to a disciple who could understand all the profound complexities just described - if a worthy son or daughter merely REALLY understood the following lines, if they really lived BEING these lines, well they'd gotten it:

"So you should see this fleeting world:

- A star at dawn,

- A bubble in a stream,

- A flash of lightening in a summer cloud,

- A flickering light,

- A phantom and a dream"
